Who we are
Center City Church started in April of 2005, with services at the Carousel Movie Theater on Battleground Avenue, before making its way to our second location at 233 Commerce Place, right in the heart of downtown Greensboro. Now, we have moved up the block to 320 N. Eugene Street. Directly across from the Greensboro Grasshopper's stadium, to a larger facility!
We became closely engaged with the teachings coming out of Bethel Church in Redding, CA under the leadership of Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, Danny Silk, Paul Manwarring and a bevy of others, all pouring forth a spring of revival and a closeness in Jesus Christ that one could sit under and drink freely.
Our encouraged hearts grew and we were fully engaged in the one idea that revival doesn't have to be a special ocassion-- that it is an everyday opportunity waiting to be lit, waiting to be lived. The Holy Spirit was given over two-thousand years ago. We don't have to wait for Him to be given again, we live day after day being filled with the power God promised all believers and we are living in revival everyday. Jesus is real to us and real in us everyday.
We began as a church affiliated with the Assemblies of God and as time went on and the vision became clearer it was soon obvious to all of us who we were. We left the A/G, honoring them and they, in turn, blessing us.
We are affiliated with Global Legacy (GL), an apostolic relational network of revival leaders whose purpose is to bring heaven to earth (Matt 6:10). GL is dedicated to helping fulfill the mission of Bethel Church which is REVIVAL.
Our passion is simple: to teach and encourage an everyday lifestyle and culture of revival in people, so that we will see an everyday lifestyle and culture of revival in the city of Greensboro.
We believe that our neighborhoods, the city of Greensboro and surrounding areas, our state, our country, and the world will be impacted by the revivalists that will be equipped and released through Center City Church!
Come taste and see... Greensboro is the greatest revival city ever!
